Cardiff City FC hosted Abergavenny on Wednesday evening, watched by a record crowd of 5,175 for a domestic women’s game in Wales.

The Genero Adran Premier fixture was played at Cardiff City Stadium, with the attendance far outstripping the record made earlier this season when 1,426 saw Swansea City entertain Cardiff Met.

Phoebie Poole hit a hat-trick, Rhianne Oakley and Eliza Collie each bagged a brace, Danielle Green and Zoe Atkins adding one apiece.

The win moved Cardiff City eight points clear of Swansea at the top of the table, having played one game more, while Abergavenny are still to get off the mark.
