Orchard Media and Events Group became the WPWL headline sponsor in the biggest commercial deal in the competition’s history.
Orchard already works closely with the Football Association of Wales, managing match days for the World Cup qualifiers and producing the recent FAW Awards ceremony. They now become WPWL headline sponsor with immediate effect for the remainder of the 2016/17 season.
WPWL Secretary Lucy Kelly told welshpremierwomensleague.co.uk: “I am very pleased Orchard have become headline sponsors for our national league in Wales. Their increasing portfolio of partnerships and success with major events over the last number of years has given us faith in our ever-improving product.”
The Welsh Premier Women’s League was formed in 2009, and has grown to 10 teams now participating in the league.
Orchard’s Marketing & Communications Manager, Emma Wordley said: “As proud supporters of Welsh sport, and a major player in media and events in Wales, we are only too happy to support the development of the women’s game in Wales. We enjoy a great relationship with the FAW, and want to play our part in the success of the women’s game here.”
