Wellingborough Town celebrate their Regional League title

Wellingborough Town celebrated promotion to the East Midlands Premier, while Aylesford, Handsworth, Kidderminster Harriers and Thornaby all went top of their respective tables.

EASTERN – Hutton’s Canny hat-trick hero get them to final

Premier – Royston Town had seven different scorers in an 8-1 win at Bowers & Pitsea to stay top by ten points from Luton Town, who got all three goals at Cambridge City and have four games in hand. Haringey Borough’s 3-1 result at Watford Ladies Development put them third, St Albans City defeated Wroxham 4-0 to leapfrog them into fifth.

1 North – All the bottom three put points on the board, Kings Lynn Town edging a seven-goal thriller with Real Bedford Reserves, Biggleswade United beating Thetford Town 2-1 and Mulbarton Wanderers drawing 2-2 at Stevenage Development.

1 South – Stanway Pegasus went seventh with a fine 3-3 draw at Southend United, Jade Horne twice on target for the visitors and Hannah Smith bagging a brace for the home side. Toby Ladies and Wormley Rovers finished one apiece, Amy Jacobs netting for the former and Holly Fox scoring form the latter.

League Cup Semi-Final – Stevenage eliminated Enfield Town 2-1 with goals in the first 22 minutes from Gemma Croucher and Kelsey Millen. Stevenage now face Luton in the final at Bedford Town FC on 11 May, kick-off 3pm.

League Plate Semi-Finals – Daisy Canny was Hutton’s hat-trick hero as they reached the final by the odd goal in seven at Harpenden Town,  Chelmsford City accounted for Frontiers a solitary Kaci Crook goal. The final will be at Bedford Town FC on 11 May, kick-off 10.45am.

EAST MIDLANDS – Wellingborough Town promoted to Premier

Premier – Anstey Nomads drew 1-1 with Chesterfield Ladies, who remain fourth but would have gone level on points with the leaders if they had won. Megan Harper was on target for Nomads, Imogen Fowler for the visitors.

1 Central – Loughborough Foxes Vixens have an eight-point lead at the top but from three more games than challengers Asfordby Amateurs, after a 3-0 win at Sleaford Town where Renae Huggan-Broughton struck twice in the first half.

1 North – Champions Gainsborough Trinity won with a Katy Thornley goal at Arnold Eagles, Sherwood saw off second-placed Grimsby Town with a Grace Adeyinka effort, Dronfield Town beat Belper Town 5-0 away and Notts County Development drew 4-4 with Grimsby Borough.

1 South – Wellingborough Town celebrated winning the title, with a long-range Cala Thornton goal from a free kick giving them victory over Northampton Town Devs. New Bradwell St Peter’s Cara Brooker netted an 85th-minute winner at  Thrapston Town, Newport Pagnell Town beat Cardea 2-1 with Alexandra Bartlett scoring the decider. Bugbrooke St.Michael remain winless after a narrow 2-1 home defeat to Leicester City Ladies, who climb to fifth.

League Cup Semi-Finals – River City had led Sheffield FC 2-1 at half-time with goals by Dulcibella Binns and Trinae Edwards but the visitors went through 3-2 with a Stacey Buxton hat-trick. They will face Rotherham United in the final, Alesha Gale and Lori-Anne Tart scoring in a 2-0 win at Asfordby Amateurs.

League Plate Semi-Finals – Mansfield Town’s Olivia Standeven was at the double in a 3-0 success at Chesterfield FC, SJR Worksop progressed past Nottingham Trent University 4-0 with Laura Ferguson scoring twice off the bench.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Aylesford win top-of-the-table clash

Premier – No goals at all for the home teams as Dartford won a title ‘six-pointer’ 1-0 at Saltdean United with Brionne Fowle’s finish, Fulham sank Millwall Lionesses 7-0 aided by a Stella Gandee Morgan treble, Esmee Kew-Stroud netted two of Ashford United’s three at Haywards Heath Town and Sutton United Amelia Cutler a hat-trick in their four away to Sport London E Benfica.

1 North – Brentford ran riot in front of 155 fans at Richmond Park, Chloe Logie and Nikki Woods with four each, Ashley Cheatley netting three times in a 15-0 result. Leen Winner Ekwo scored five as Bromley netted nine past Ashmount Leigh to keep within two points of the Bees. Dulwich Hamlet Reserves are fifth after a 3-1 win at Richmond & Kew, Hackney sent AFC Whyteleafe to an 18th straight defeat as Lizzie Tucker claimed three of their five goals.

1 South – Aylesford replaced Saltdean United Development as leaders on goal-difference, when defeating them 3-1 helped by a Rebecca Keyte brace. Bognor Regis Town are unbeaten and well placed in third but were held 1-1 at home by Welling United in fourth. Herne Bay’s Ysobele Demomme equalised in the 89th minute for a 2-2 tie with Montpelier Villa, whose Lou Tindall got both their goals. Bexhill United and Steyning Town played out a goalless draw, Hastings United got off the bottom at the expense of Three Bridges against whom Georgia Pearch scored two of their three goals.

NORTH EAST – Handsworth and Thornaby go top of first divisions

Premier – Bradford City had a 2-0 victory at South Shields as they continue their title chase, Spennymoor Town were 4-0 winners over Harrogate Town, Sunderland West End had a walkover against York Railway Institute, as did Wallsend BC at relegated Hull United.

1 North –  Thornaby took over at the top with a 2-0 result over Consett whose Natalie Clarke was dismissed in the last ten minutes, as Norton & Stockton Ancients Reserves had to settle for a 0-0 draw at Washington. Chester le Street United’s 5-0 result against Redcar Town featured Lily West’s second-half treble, Hartlepool United’s Libbie Trainor netted three times in a 4-2 win at Gateshead, who drop into the relegation zone with Chester le Street Amazons having beaten Bishop Auckland 2-0.

1 South – Handsworth hit Lower Hopton for six aided by an Abby Watkinson hat-trick, as they retook the summit from Ossett United who went down 2-1 at Brunsmeer Athletic. Altofts were 3-0 winners over Sheffield United Foundation, with all the goals coming in the last 20 minutes.

NORTH WEST – Fleetwood deliver extra-time knockout blow to Tranmere

1 North – Two midweek games saw Accrington Stanley beat Haslingden 2-1 after a goal from substitute Ava Schofield and Preston North End net nine against relegated Hindley, Madison Hadley with four goals in the first half and Emma Tunstall hitting a hat-trick. Sunday saw Blackpool lose out 11-1 at home to leaders Bolton Wanderers, Atherton Laburnum Rovers win 3-2 at Haslingden with two from Hannah Wilkinson, Fleetwood Town Wrens Reserves take the points 3-1 at Hindley and Morecambe Hannah move closer to safety with a Hannah Paling double in their 3-2 result at Radcliffe.

1 South – Runcorn Linnets and Mossley Hill Athletic drew 2-2 in the meeting of third and fourth respectively, Chester beat Macclesfield FC 2-0 and Wirral Phoenix scored five times at Litherland REMYCA.

Alliance Design & Print League Cup Quarter-Finals – Accrington Stanley edged out Poulton Vics 2-1, with a Melissa Adamson winner in front of 120 fans. Wythenshawe went through 3-0 at Darwen, Mancunian Unity put out Penrith 5-1 and FC United of Manchester’s tie with Ellesmere Port Town was abandoned in extra time.

Alliance Design & Print League Plate Quarter-Finals – Fleetwood Town edged a seven-goal thriller with Tranmere Rovers in extra-time, when Emily Slate scored her second for the Wrens. Curzon Ashton’s Jess Holbrook scored in added time of each half for a 2-1 win at Crewe Alexandra. Preston eliminated Warrington Town 3-1, while a crowd of 120 watched Workington Town bow out 2-0 at home to Bury.

SOUTHERN – Fleet’s five-goal first half left Woking to much to do

Premier – Ascot United held top spot with a 4-0 defeat of Sholing, second-placed Wycombe Wanderers were 5-1 winners over Woodley United whose Bonnie Messitt received two cautions. AFC Portchester’s Eilidh Currie got the only goal at Winchester City Flyers, as did Reading’s Zuzanna Gajzler at Badshot Lea, while Oxford City won 3-0 at Selsey.

1 North – Penn & Tylers Green won 3-1 at Milton United despite a red card for their Sarah Harrison, Wycombe Wanderers U-23s completed their fixtures with a 4-3 victory at Tilehurst Panthers with Ammara Qureshi netting a hat-trick for the away side. Abingdon United Development defeated their counterparts from Chesham United as Beth Hawtin got three goals, Kidlington took the points 2-0 away at Caversham United.

1 South – Havant & Waterlooville won 4-0 at Bursledon to cut AFC Stoneham’s lead to two points. Fleet Town made it nine wins from nine with a 5-3 result at Woking who rallied after being five down at half time, while it ended goalless between AFC Varsity and Wimborne Town.

REGEN ARABLE SOUTH WEST – Marine foil Forest hopes

Premier – Forest Green scored early on at leaders Marine Academy Plymouth but a Kelsey Blight brace in a 3-1 win for the Devon side effectively ended Rovers’ title hopes. Torquay United’s bid continued with a 5-1 defeat of Ilminster Town, likewise Sherborne Town whose Imogen Miller got all three goals against Bishops Lydeard. Pucklechurch Sports’ sub Kimberley Maggs scored in a 2-1 win over AFC St Austell, AEK Boco and Frampton Rangers drew a blank. On Saturday 15 March, Forest Green host Pucklechurch at the New Lawn with a 5.30pm kick off.

1 North – Bitton drew the top-two clash 2-2 with leaders Gloucester City, as Isabella Williams equalised on 87 minutes. Cirencester Town won 2-1 at Paulton Rovers, Corsham Town shared four goals with Royal Wootton Bassett Town, Bath City beat SGS Olveston United 5-0 and St Vallier sent Stockwood Wanderers to a 4-2 defeat.

1 South – Plympton maintained a five-point lead with the 3-1 defeat of Helston Athletic, Saltash United winning 1-0 at Feniton with a Bethany Prowse effort. Viktoriia Khandusenko got all Weston super Mare’s five goals in their 5-3 win against Yeovil Town, Weymouth beat Sticker 3-1 as Emily Screen contributed a couple of goals.

WEST MIDLANDS – Harriers hit the top, trio win on penalties

Premier – Port Vale sub Manuela Delle scored for a 2-1 midweek win at Burton Albion, the Brewers also losing on Sunday 5-0 at Kidderminster Harriers, who replaced Lye Town in pole position. Shrewsbury Town hit Coundon Court 6-2 in leapfrogging them into fourth, Alvechurch’s 5-1 win over Knowle featured an Alisha Sheridan hat-trick, while Port Vale were held 1-1 at home by Solihull Sporting.

1 North – Lichfield City overcame Leek Town Reserves 10-2, Courtney Dilger top-scoring with three goals.

1 South – Third-placed Crusaders saw off Halesowen Town in fourth, as sub Alexa Moore scored for a 2-1 result. Bromsgrove Sporting drew 2-2 with visitors Long Itchington.

Premier Cup Semi-Final – Leek Town eliminated Lye Town 3-0 on penalties following a 4-4 deadlock. Rehanne Mellor had scored twice for Leek, while a hat-trick for Leek’s Sian Johnson proved to be all in vain.

Division 1 Cup Quarter-Finals – Hednesford Town pipped hosts Redditch United 7-6 on penalties after scores were ties at 1-1, Walsall FC were goalless with Tamworth but won the shoot-out 3-1. Worcester City Reserves were 5-2 victors over Eccleshall, Redditch Borough scored five without reply against Droitwich Spa.
