Watford Women will leave Kings Langley and play their home matches at a different ground for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

Where will Watford Women play their home matches?

Watford Women have announced they will play their home games at Uxbridge FC’s Honeycroft Ground for the remainder of the campaign.

This means they will no longer play their home games at The Orbital Fasteners Stadium at Kings Langley.

However, the move means supporters will travel 17 miles for home games, compared to just over five miles to Kings Langley.

The Women’s National League side will play their first home game in Uxbridge on January 25th.

Why have Watford decided to switch to a different home ground?

Watford Women have decided to switch up their home ground as they feel the new ground will complement their playing style.

They believe the switch will also reduce the risk of games being postponed due to the weather.

Helen Ward, head of women’s football at Watford, said: “Whilst the facilities are excellent and the provisions for supporters are fantastic, we also want to acknowledge that it does mean moving the team further away from Watford once again.

“Our supporters are fiercely loyal and we’d never want to take advantage of that, but we hope you all understand that the move will hopefully serve the team well and help us achieve our goal of promotion into the Women’s Super League.”

Renee Hector’s side have already played two matches at Uxbridge this season – against Saltdean United in the FA Cup and Lewes in the league.

Ward added: “The staff at Uxbridge FC have been wonderful to us in the two games we played there just before Christmas, and we feel the playing surface suits us as a team and complements the way we want to play.”

Watford Women seek return to WSL 2

The move highlights Watford’s ambitions of returning to the Women’s Super League.

Watford were relegated from the WSL 2, formerly known as the Women’s Championship, in 2024.

They are in a promotion fight in the Women’s National League Southern Premier with AFC Bournemouth and Plymouth Argyle.

Watford are one point behind leaders Bournemouth with a game in hand. Only the champions are automatically promoted to the second tier of the English football league.

The team that finishes second will face a promotion playoff against the side that finishes second in the Northern Premier.

Watford recently came from a goal down to beat Plymouth 3-1. Speaking to SheKicks, Anna Filbey revealed how a supporter helped Watford in their comeback win.
