Central Girls Football Academy Wasps

Wasps Win Ahead Of Florida Flight

Central Girls Wasps made it nine wins from ten with a 4-1 victory at Stirling, as they prepare to fly out for a tournament in Florida. Dundee United kept up the pressure when winning 3-1 at Aberdeen but third-placed Granite City fell to a 4-1 loss at Falkirk, Dunfermline stay fourth with their 2-1 result at Forfar, where they came from behind with goals by Kerry Walker and Alix Moodie. Inverness remain fifth after defeating Tayside 4-2 and Dee Ladies claimed their first win to get off the bottom at the expense of Westdyke, Rianna Law, Lynn Duncan and Stepanie McNelis their scorers.

Killie’s High Five

Kilmarnock (pictured top) put five past third-placed Thistle Weir to stay top of SWFL 1 South, Clare Docherty featuring with a hat-trick. Hibs were 2-0 up in the Edinburgh derby at Hearts when the game was abandoned. Cumbernauld, Renfrew and Celtic all won to keep fourth, fifth and sixth spots respectively. Susbtitute Sarah Wardlaw bagged a late brace as the Colts beat Queens Park 4-2, the visitors – who had led 2-1 – being reduced to ten in added time.

Airdrie Go Level With Leaders  

Airdrie went level on points with SWFL 2 Central leaders Blackburn United, thanks to their 8-1 thrashing of third in the table Glasgow Girls in which Cheryl Watt hit a double hat-trick. Motherwell held Hamilton 2-2 and Stenhousemuir went fifth with a 6-1 scoreline over lowly Hawick United as new signing Rebecca Robertson scored five times. Cumbernauld’s game was abandoned after a serious injury sustained by an East Kilbride player.

Bayside Win Top Of Table Clash

Bayside’s twelfth straight victory put them 6 points clear in SWFL 2 East, as they beat second-placed Raith Rovers 3-2, with Debbie To (pictured) getting two and Kerry Finlay the other. Edinburgh Caledonia closed the gap on Dundee City when hitting them 6-1, Emma O’Sullivan netting three. Mid-table Forfar were the day’s top scorers with 13 goals at Letham, seven up for Ashleigh Smith and a treble by Hannah Dryden. Montrose netted nine at Seton and Hutchison Vale put four past Edinburgh South.

Deveronvale Dozen

Deveronvale ran out 12-2 winners over Ross County to maintain the 2 North top spot, netting six times in either half. Buchan Youth leapfrogged Stonehaven into second when defeating them 3-2 away. Turriff United also overtook their opponents, beating Moray 4-1 to go fourth.

Morton Dumbfound Dumbarton

The Division 2 West leadership changed as Dumbarton United dropped their first point in a 6-2 reverse at home to unbeaten Morton. Bishopston in third crashed 6-3 at Queen of the South, Ayr United knocked in 11 goals against Stranraer with three each for Jodie Barbour and Claire Masterson, while United Glasgow won 2-1 at Rutherglen.
