Jayne Ludlow has announced the Wales Squad that will travel to Kazakhstan for a FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier on 17 September.
Wales open their qualifying campaign in Astana before another difficult away trip to Russia in October.
Ludlow unveiled her squad at a press conference in Cardiff City Stadium, where Wales will play their first home match of the campaign in November against opening opponents Kazakhstan.
Jess Fishlock has returned to the squad but there is no Helen Ward as the striker gave birth to her second child on the morning of the squad announcement.
Ludlow’s squad is a blend of experience and youth. She told FAW.Cymru: “The plan is to compete and qualify. This current group of players want to be the first to make it to do that.
“We’re very much looking forward to starting the campaign. We finished the last one on a high.”
The Wales squad is as follows:
Claire Skinner (Oxford United) Laura O’Sullivan (Yeovil Town), Loren Dykes (Bristol City), Hannah Miles (Yeovil Town), Hayley Ladd (unattached), Sophie Ingle (Liverpool), Gemma Evans (Yeovil Town), Chloe Chivers* (Cardiff City LFC), Angharad James (Everton), Chloe Lloyd (Yeovil Town), Emma Beynon (Swansea City), Grace Thomas** (unattached), Georgia Evans (Bristol City), Nadia Lawrence (Yeovil Town), Jess Fishlock (Seattle Reign), Natasha Harding (Liverpool), Kayleigh Green (Yeovil Town), Rhiannon Roberts (Doncaster Rovers Belles).
