Wales twice lead Northern Ireland in the first of two Women’s U-19 internationals in Wrexham this week but the visitors replied to draw 2-2.

The hosts were ahead on 32 minutes, when Fi Morgan was dispossessed and Phoebie Poole fired home but Northern Ireland got back on level terms just six minutes later, Ella Haughey sending Sion Swifts’ Cora Chambers through to level.

Wales were back in front a couple of minutes after the break, Mary McAteer scoring from the spot after Tierna Bell conceded the penalty.

Just minutes later it was 2-2, Chambers heading home her second goal of the game, after a clearance from a free-kick was returned into the box.

The teams play each other again at Colliers Park in Wrexham this Saturday, kick-off is 11am.
