Welsh midfielder Carrie Jones, who made her senior international debut aged just 15, is leaving Cardiff City Ladies to join Manchester United’s academy.

Jones had represented Wales at U-15 and U-17 levels, before making her A team debut in a Euro 2021 qualifier against the Faroe Islands last August.

Turning 16 the following month, it was only then that she was able to play for her club side, Cardiff City LFC, in the FA WNL Southern Premier Division.

She played a total of 10 games in all competitions last season, scoring three times for City.

The new campaign will see Jones make her way in Manchester United’s FA WSL Academy League side.
