Emma Jones has made the move to Lewes from Cardiff City Ladies, for whom she scored nine times in as many starts in the second half of last season’s FAWNL campaign.

The 24-year-old has also played for Linköpings in the Champions League and broke into the Wales senior team this year after coming through the youth sides.

Lewes manager Fran Alonso told the club’s website: “I’ve been trying to bring Emma to Lewes for a while and I’m delighted to confirm she is now a Rook.

“She is not only a senior international player but a proven goal scorer who will contribute massively to have a very successful season.”

Jones added: “I’m really excited to be at Lewes. My main job is to score goals and that’s exactly what I intend to do.”
