Huddersfield Town were taken to extra-time before coming through 3-2 at Liverpool Feds in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup 2nd Round.
The only tie in the competition to go ahead on 3 January saw the FA WNL leaders taken all the way by their lowed division hosts.
Jodie Mortimer forced a one-on-one save from Huddersfield keeper Lauren Joyce early on but for the Terriers Kate Mallin hit the post from a free-kick and Laura Elford struck the crossbar.

Mallin broke the deadlock seven minutes after the restart, the Feds almost hit back immediately as Mortimer’s effort was saved.
The scores were levelled on 75 minutes, as Paige Cole went through the defence and fired over the keeper and into the net.
Home custodian Rachel Darbyshire made a close-range stop to ensure the added half-hour was needed but Town forced an own-goal from a corner in the 101st minute and scored again shortly after with Mallin’s second.
Chantelle Thompson looped the ball home to give the Feds hope with six minutes to go but it was Huddersfield who became the first side through to the 3rd Round.
