Villa say that Hassall, a second year Sports Technology student at Loughborough University, can’t wait to get started in claret and blue.
She told ladies.avfc.co.uk: “I’m excited. It’s a new challenge. I played against the girls at C of E [Centre of Excellence] level, so knew they had a good set-up there.
“I knew a few of the girls from various matches. I knew the quality was there. As soon as I had my first session with them I realised that I could definitely play with the girls. We had the same goals.
On her time at Notts County, she commented: “I got to play with some fantastic people and got to train day in day out with them.
“I learnt a lot from that experience. It was hard not getting game time. Training every single day you learn loads watching them.”
Looking to her future with Villa, she added: “I want to help the club go even further to make sure it gets the accolades it deserves. The Spring Series is short but it gives us a chance to try new things and build on what’s already there.”
Joe Hunt is delighted with his latest recruit and said: “She is a fantastic addition to our squad. Alice is comfortable in the full-back positions but can be flexible to play a few other positions. She’s been on our radar for a while.
“What we’ve seen from Alice in training over the last few weeks is someone who takes her football very seriously. She does the work away from football, she’s very fit and ready to challenge for a playing position straight away.”
