UEFA Women’s Champions League holders Lyon were 2-0 winners in their Round of 16 home leg with Brøndby.

Nikita Parris gave Lyon the lead with a header from an Amel Majri delivery on 30 minutes but the Danish side almost restricted their French hosts to just that single goal.

However, Melvine Mallard added a possibly crucial second goal in stoppage-time from a Janice Cayman corner, to give Lyon a 2-0 advantage to defend next week.

Lyon reached a couple of landmarks in the tie, netting their 400th UWCL goal, while Wendie Renard made it a competition record 90th appearance.

Bayern blow away BIIK

Bayern Munich blew away their hosts 6-1 in Kazakhstan, where Lienth Beerensteyn and Lea Schüller scored first-half goals against BIIK Kazygurt.

Linda Dallmann netted at the start and end of the second period, the latter from the spot, while there was one apiece for Hanna Glas and Karolina Vilhjálmsdóttir but a consolation by Rachel Kundananji.
