Chelsea rescued a point against Wolfsburg in the UEFA Women’s Champions League Group Stage after falling two goals behind.
Group A: Servette 0-3 Juventus, Chelsea 3-3 Wolfsburg
Chelsea made a flying start at Kingsmeadow and although Sam Kerr lobbed Almuth Schult from Ji So-Yun’s ballover the top, defensive errors led to Tabea Wassmuth and Jill Roord turning the tide for Wolfsburg. Wassmuth got her second after break but Beth England quickly replied and late on in the game, Melanie Leupolz set up Pernille Harder to equalise.
Servette’s Inês Pereira saved an Andrea Stašková penalty but Juventus still left with a 3-0 victory, Arianna Caruso volleyed in the opener and Lina Hurtig made it 2-0. Natalia Padilla Bidas was denied a goal back when her header hit the post, before Valentina Cernoia netted Juve’s third.
Group B: Kharkiv 0-1 Real Madrid, Breidablik 0-2 PSG
Lorena Navarro got the only goal of the match in the first half as a dominant Real Madrid took the points in Kharkiv.
PSG eventually overcame Breidablik as Lea Khelifi turned in a Sakina Karchaoui cross and Grace Geyoro struck a late second.
