USA edged Brazil with a Mallory Swanson second-half goal to win the Paris 2024 Olympics Gold Medal Match.

Ludmila should have had Brazil ahead inside two minutes but shot straight at Alyssa Naeher when through on goal.

The offside flag denied Ludmila when she turned her marker and fired past the goalkeeper into the roof of the net.

Swanson stormed into the left of the box but saw her shot charged down by keeper Lorena, then close to half time Gabi Portilho forced a smart diving save from Naeher.

Brazil had Vitória Yaya stretchered off very early in the second half, they were behind before the hour mark when Korbin Albert sent Swanson through to score on her 100th cap.

Marta came off the bench for Brazil but it was the USA threatening, as Trinity Rodman shot wide and Albert hooked an effort just over the angle.

Adriana won a late free kick which Marta fired well over the top, before her header in the fourth of ten minutes of stoppage-time was saved by Naeher.
