Friday’s friendly rematch of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup Final again saw the USA come out on top, with a 2-0 victory over the Netherlands in Breda.

It was the US’s first game since March and Rose Lavelle repeated her goal against the Dutch of summer 2019.

Christen Press sent Lavelle away down the wing and she cut inside to fire home from the corner of the box, four minutes before the break.

The lead was doubled in the last 20 minutes, Alyssa Naeher’s long free kick deflecting to Lynn Williams, who played in Kristie Mewis for a sharp finish.

It might have been 3-0 at the death when Alex Morgan had the ball in the net but offside was given.
