AFC Fylde hosted the English Schools FA Cup Finals yesterday, with Tyne Met storming to victory in the U-18 Colleges’ Cup for Girls, while Thomas Telford took the U-18 Schools’ Cup for Girls.
Tyne Met College proved too strong for Seevic College, as Player of the Match Katie Barker bagged a brace before the break and went on to complete a four-goal haul in a 7-1 scoreline.
Seevic had pulled a goal back straight after going 3-0 down but Tyne Met made certain of success with four goals in the space of a dozen minutes.
Thomas Telford had been runners-up in the previous two U-18 Schools Cup Finals but this time lifted the trophy after besting Barking Abbey 2-0.
Player of the Match Jessica Jennings opened the scoring on 38 minutes and it was down to the last 5 minutes before Jess Shirley struck to make sure it was third time lucky for her team.
Meanwhile at St George’s Park, Iqra Academy from Peterborough won the ESFA Muslim Schools’ Shield.
