Vital victories for Rossvale, Renfrew and Hutchison Vale saw them leapfrog Livingston at the top of the Scottish Women’s Championship table.
Goals by Kirsten Treanor and a trialist were enough to inflict Livingston’s first defeat of the season in Glasgow, after the Lionesses equalised Rachel Ashe’s opener through a deft header by Ashley Fish.
A goal by Ayr United’s Rachel Scott was not enough to pin back Renfrew, who ran out 3-1 winners in Cumnock. For the third week in a row, Hutchison Vale came from behind to beat Dryburgh Athletic comfortably 5-1 in Wester Hailes, while Greenock Morton managed to beat Inverness Caley Thistle 2-1 in a tight game in the Highlands and stop their recent losing streak.
Emma Mitchell scored the SWF league One’s first hat trick of the season at Meadowbank, as all the League One pace-setters scored big to open up a gap at the top of the table. Both Falkirk and FC Edinburgh racked up commanding 8-0 victories and Westdyke put five past Giffnock SC with no reply.
A nine-goal thriller at Ochilview saw Jude Connolly snatch all three points for Stenhousemuir, after it looked certain to looked certain Sammy Hyett had secured a point at 4-4 for Edinburgh Caledonia.
Elsewhere, St Mirren claimed an important three points and climbed to sixth, with a 3-1 victory at BSC Glasgow and Grampian Ladies continued their goalscoring form with a 7-0 victory at home against Dundee West.
