Rovers say that the grant will allow them to develop a women’s team and academy to add to the men’s team in the FA Super League and growing boys academy that already has over 150 members.
“It’s great news that we have been awarded the grant. We’re the fastest growing club in England, with a full boys academy and now we’re going to start to develop the girls’ side of the club, starting with the women’s team and under-10s,” said Damon Shaw, the Rovers’ Futsal Manager.
“There is a fantastic appetite for futsal in the Wirral and we can’t wait to grow the women’s game as well as the men’s.”
