Three straight wins for Barca and Lyon in UEFA Women’s Champions League

Barcelona and Lyon both made it three wins from three games in the UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage.

Barcelona hit six goals away to Sweden’s Rosengard, Jessica Wik’s own-goal was followed by efforts from Salma Paralluelo and a Patricia Guijarro strike from outside the box. Aitana Bonmati made it 4-0 after the break, Mariona Caldentey added a penalty and Martina Fernandez rounded off the scoring late on.

Benfica beat Eintracht Frankfurt to take second position in the group from them, Marie-Yasmine Alidou making the breakthrough inside the last 20 minutes.

Lyon went three points clear of Brann at the top of Group B, beating them 3-1 for a third straight victory. Kadidiatou Diani scored either side of a goal by Ada Hegerberg, before Justine Kielland responded for the Norwegian side.

St.Pölten and Slavia Prague played out a goalless draw to both get off the mark, the visitors not managing to take all three despite 20 shots at goal.
