Third Time Lucky?

After securing consecutive Welsh Premier League titles, we at Cardiff Met LFC will once again be proudly representing Wales in the UEFA Women’s Champions League group stages.

Our return to Europe means that the Cardiff Met ‘Road to Europe’ blog is back in business. All of you lucky She Kicks readers have the opportunity to follow us on our journey by receiving the inside information and gossip on new signings, current players, training updates, results of pre-Europe friendlies and any other- what we deem- interesting activities we may get up to.

Where will we be venturing off to this time?

After a well-deserved month away from football, we arranged to meet up as a squad and watch the live draw which took place on the 25 June. Some of you may already know the result of the draw, however if not, we will be heading to… POLAND. Although some were sad to miss out on a trip to sunny Cyprus or Croatia, the majority were left intrigued as to what Poland will have in store for us come August.

So what now?

As of last Monday we belong to Kerry Harris, Dai Watts and Chris Edwards, devoting our summer holidays to an intense and demanding six-week programme. This will consist of training Monday-Thursday, twice a day, focusing on strength and conditioning alongside technical sessions. Friday and Saturday will be our much needed rest days from training and the wrath of Kerry Harris (yes, I am talking from experience). Sundays will be game day.

We have our hearts set on qualifying, so with the added experience of last year coupled with finally tuned preparation, hopefully this year we can achieve our target.

There is not much left to say at this point, however if you are interested in putting some names to faces and getting to know the team a little better, then head over to our Facebook Page and take a look. (Facebook.com/cardiffmetlfc)
