With the Sports Recruiting USA class of 2017 looking forward to starting their new lives in America this August, SRUSA are often asked the best time to start looking at achieving a US Soccer scholarship, and when to attend an initial trial event.
U.S college and university coaches are now starting to turn their attention to the 2018 and 2019 intake, as they attempt to recruit talented female footballers from over here in the UK. That is why SRUSA’s advice is to start the process of engagement as soon as possible, to ensure athletes and parents can obtain all the information they need to make an informed decision about pursuing the option of becoming a student athlete in America.
Although it seems like a long way off, players for 2018 should already be considering the different options that they have. The earlier that a player registers with SRUSA, the better prepared they will be for the SAT exam, and there will be more time for us to produce a strong personal highlights video for a player.
This is one of the main reasons why SRUSA run events as often as possible for our players. All the events are filmed, which means that the players obtain the best possible opportunity to build up strong footage of themselves, that SRUSA can then use when promoting their players to coaches in the USA.
SRUSA try to make events as relaxed as possible because we want to give the players the best environment in which to show their talent. They understand that players will be nervous, but with the mixture of trial ID camps, and matches against top teams, such as Nottingham Forest U18 Ladies, players are given the perfect opportunity to excel.
All events are led by female UEFA and FA qualified coaches, which not only provides the players with top level of coaching on the day, but also gives the players, new and old, the best experience possible.
The events themselves involve plenty of practical work, as well as a presentation to players and parents to provide all the information required to become a student athlete in America. Plenty of valuable information is passed on from the personal US scholarship experiences of the coaching staff. In addition to this Leah Galton, England U-23 International and current professional player in America (also, two time All American at Hofstra University in New York), is also an ambassador for SRUSA, and is happy to share her experience with the girls.
SRUSA have upcoming events over the next couple of months that I would encourage any aspiring footballers to attend. They take place at the following venues and you can sign up and find out more information by following the links below.
