As the participation levels of women’s football continues to rise, so too does the demand for women’s fit-kit and products. In terms of kit, for us at Soccerella it’s not about getting the right (or wrong) look, it’s about choice and comfort. We’ve found that the majority of women are comfortable in, and want to wear, women’s-fit kit. For Soccerella that reason alone is enough to continue the work we’ve already started: encouraging numerous brands to invest in and enlarge their women’s-fit ranges.
A number of top teams already wear women’s fit match kit namely, England Ladies, Arsenal Ladies, Manchester City Women. More recently, Chelsea and Liverpool Ladies have opted to switch to women’s fit kit with Chelsea debuting theirs in this year’s Women’s FA Cup Final.
In today’s game, we see some great examples of women’s-fit kit transforming the visual identity of female players, reinforcing their position as role models for the next generation. But we also see plenty of examples where this is not the case. As we work to provide the choice for players across the country, we also believe that kit can serve a purpose far greater than just function – but also become a commercial tool with which to further develop the game. We’re proud to play our part in this movement and, together, we hope that we can make the brands reflect the true potential of our great and growing game.
