Glasgow City but 8 past Forfar to stay 2 points clear at the top. Haley Rosen’s free kick was headed home by Lauren McMurchie after 20 minutes, with Leanne Ross then finishing off a passing move, before Rosen set up Fiona Brown to make it 3-0.
A hand ball by the visitors allowed Ross to get her second from the penalty spot and Savannah McCarthy shot home in stoppage time.
Erin Cuthbert finished on 46 minutes to make it 6-0, Julie Fleeting fired home after a Hayley Lauder cross, with Holly Napier then missing from the spot for the visitors.
Fleeting headed into the back of the net off a Ross cross to complete the scoing on 74 minutes.
Hibs moved 10 points clear of third-placed Celtic after beating them 2-1 away with a last gasp decider. Lizzie Arnott gave them a 15th-minute lead via the post but Celtic took just 5 minutes to equalise through Suzanne Mulvey. The game remained level until Joelle Murray scored off a Emma Brownlie corner with the last play of the game.
Stirling University twice came from behind to share four goals with mid-table Spartans, which was enough to get them off the foot of the table at Forfar’s expense. Kate Reilly headed home a Louise Masson corner and a similar set piece at the other end saw Rachel Donaldson nod in Jade Gallon’s delivery. Alana Marshall restored the lead from Mason’s cross and although Gallon’s penalty hit the post and rebounded into the face of keeper Corrie McIlravey, Nicole Pullar later got the second leveller.
Fifth-placed Rangers are 5 points ahead of Aberdeen after defeating the Dons 2-0. Two minutes into the second half, Lisa Swanson broke the deadlock from outside the box. The points were sealed with 3 minutes left, after Clare Gemmell’s penalty was saved by Becky Flaherty, only for Sarah Robertson to net the rebound.
Glasgow Girls maintained a single point advantage at the top of SWPL 2 when winning 2-0 at Inverness. Lauren Evans’ goal on 25 minutes was added to by Nicola Hardie on the hour mark.
Hearts strengthened their second spot by edging Hamilton by the only goal to move 5 points ahead of the Accies. Gemma Mason converted a last-minute penalty after Kara Kidd was brought down in the box
Hutchison Vale gained ground on Hamilton by thrashing basement side Queen’s Park 11-1. Hucthie hit eight first-half goals and the ninth moments after the restart. The Spiders then got a consolation goal, before the hosts added a couple more.
Jeanfield Swifts consolidated fifth position following a 4-1 victory at Buchan, who are immediately beneath them. But it was the home side that struck first, before good work from Jade McDonald led to 15 year-old Ellie Cowie rolling her marker to level. Swifts led by the break thanks to a ricochet off Eilidh McIntyre and over the keeper. Cowie made it 3-1 before her replacement – Alex Fox – set up McIntyre for her second.
