Scottish Women’s Football have a new partnership with BBC Scotland which will see one SWPL 1 match streamed every Sunday until the end of March, with an option to extend for the rest of the season.
The three matches currently scheduled to be shown are Hibernian v Spartans on 23 February, Heart of Midlothian v Celtic on 15 March and Celtic v Spartans on 22 March.
SWF Chair, Vivienne MacLaren, said: “We are really pleased to have secured this partnership with BBC Sport Scotland. Interest in our game is at its highest point ever, across the globe, and we’re capitalising on this by having one game available to watch live every Sunday. This is an exciting development for the game that will be a huge boost to everyone involved.”
Tom Connor, BBC Scotland Head of Sport, said: ‘We’re looking forward to teaming up with Scottish Women’s Football to bring top flight live action each week for our audiences. Women’s football is growing rapidly in Scotland and we’re delighted to be able to add SWF matches to our portfolio of live sport.’
Speaking about the season ahead, Vivienne added: “We are delighted with the progress that has been made within the game ahead of the 2020 season. I strongly believe that this will be the most competitive SWPL 1 season ever and today’s news only adds further excitement.”
