SWPL: Large wins for last season’s top three

Last season’s top three in the Scottish Women’s Premier League all posted large victories at the start of the new campaign.

SWPL 1

Glasgow City 7-0 Spartans
Hearts 3-1 Partick Thistle
Dundee United 1-1 Motherwell
Hamilton Academical 3-1 Aberdeen
Rangers 14-0 Glasgow Women
Celtic 9-0 Hibernian

SWPL 2

Boroughmuir Thistle 3-5 Kilmarnock
Gartcairn 4-1 East Fife
Montrose 5-0 Stirling University
St Johnstone 2-1 Queen’s Park

Rangers walloped promoted Glasgow Women with 10 different goalscorers, Celtic’s Jacynta Galabadaarachchi and Clarissa Larisey hit hat-tricks against Hibernian who had Siobhan Hunter sent off late on, Clare Shine got three of Glasgow City’s 7-0 result.

Hamilton beat Aberdeen 3-1, Josephine Giard and Olivia Potter on target after the Dons levelled.

Hearts’ Georgia Timms netted three times following Partick scoring first, while Danni McGinley gave Dundee United the lead but Kaela McDonald-Nguah equalised from the spot.

There were winning SWPL2 debuts for Gartcairn and Montrose over East Fife and Stirling University respectively,
St Johnstone fought back to edge Queen’s Park,while Kilmarnock won a high-scoring game at Boroughmuir.
