FA PREMIER LEAGUE

NORTHERN DIVISION: Sporting Club Albion 4-0 Loughborough Foxes
MIDLANDS DIVISION 1: Wolverhampton Wanderers 6-1 Leafield Athletic (Att: 50)
SOUTH EAST DIVISION 1: Enfield Town 0-0 Gillingham (Att: 75)
SOUTH WEST DIVISION 1: Swindon Town 4-1 Cheltenham Town (Att: 62)

Sporting Club Albion beat basement side Loughborough Foxes 4-0 to go fifth in the Northern Division, with games in hand on all those above them. Karen Clough broke the deadlock 7 minutes before the break and scored again with 20 minutes left. Hazzanna Parnell soon volleyed in the third and Steph Smith completed the scoring.

Wolves kept up their bid for the runners-up spot in the Midlands after hitting Leafield for six, leaving their near neighbours one point above the drop zone. Jenni Anslow converted a penalty, with Jade Cross and a Jade Sailsman header taking it to 3-0 by half time. The visitors then pulled one back but Amber Quick made it 4-1 and then Cross got a couple more to seal her hat-trick.

Gillingham dropped points in their pursuit of South East table-toppers Crystal Palace, when held to a goalless draw at Plate finalists Enfield, who are up to sixth as a result. The Gills’ Kaillie Balfour was involved at both ends in the last 20 minutes, winning a free kick just outside the box which Emma Tune out over the bar, before making a vital tackle to prevent the hosts going through on goal.

Swindon bounced back from their first defeat of the league season with a 4-1 victory over Cheltenham, which sent them top of the South West table. Ellie Maynard and Beth Westlake both hit the target before Michelle Rich buried a penalty for the home side. Cheltenham reduced the arrears after the restart, only for Chyna Collings to restore Swindon’s three-goal advantage.
