#SWFL1: Four wins for East Fife, Cumbernauld Colts go top

East Fife now boast four straight wins as Scottish League 1 North leaders, while Cumbernauld Colts stormed to the top of the SWFL 1 South table.

East Fife kept up their perfect start with a 2-1 result at Buchan, Dundee United also have a 100% record but after three games having edged Inverness City 2-1, with Cove Rangers also on nine points after hitting Deveronvale for six with four for Natalie Brown.

Dunfermline Athletic leapfrogged Raith Rovers when beating them 5-2 away, braces by Morgan Steedman and Lauren Wheatley. Westdyke Dee Vale got off the mark with a 2-1 defeat of Dee Ladies and Aberdeen U-23s sank Stirling University DS 7-2.

In Scottish League 1 South Cumbernauld Colts went top when thrashing Renfrew 8-2, Frances Fern with four of their goals as they fought back from 2-1 down. Blackburn United are second after a 5-1 win at Falkirk, with Westerlands slipping to third following a 3-1 home defeat to Thistle Weir.

Hibernian U-23s sent hosts Morton to a third successive defeat by three goals to nil, Celtic Academy’s 2-0 result meant a fourth defeat in a row for Boroughmuir Thistle, while Rangers DS won a seven-goal thriller at Queens Park.

Montrose and Moray both have 100% records from three games in Division 2 North, the former putting eight past Ross County with five from Lisa Anderson, the latter beating Buckie by an amazing 7-5 scoreline having been 2-0 down. Buchan Youth’s first win (3-1) came at the expense of Turriff United’s fourth loss, with Forfar Farmington DS netting ten at Caithness where Gemma Mulholland and Sandra Craig claimed four apiece.

Two teams have four wins in Division 2 West, Pollok United’s latest being a 10-2 thrashing of Queen of the South, while Kilmarnock U-23s sent hosts Bishopston to a first defeat 3-0. Third-placed Ayr United won 4-0 at United Glasgow, Dumbarton United are fourth after a 3-2 success at St Mirren. Kilwinning’s first points came in style 8-0 at Gleniffer Thistle, Rutherglen are up and running after a 1-1 tie with Stranraer.

Glasgow City DS top 2 Central after an 8-0 derby win over previous leaders Glasgow Girls DS. Motherwell DS are a third team on nine points with a 4-0 result against Murieston United. Airdrie were 4-0 winners at Stenhousemuir, Central Girls edged ahead of Hamilton Academical U-23s when beating them 2-0 away and Hawick United have their first points on the board after getting the only goal at Cumbernauld Colts Yellows.

Spartans DS now lead 2 East with three wins on the spin, the latest coming 5-0 at East Fife Violets. Dryburgh Athletic won 3-1 at previous leaders Hearts DS. A single goal was enough to secure Hutchison Vale DS a first victory against their couterparts from Jeanfield Swifts. Lothian’s 2-0 result at Bonnyrigg Rose saw them put first points on the board
