#SWFL 1: Celtic Academy and Hibs U-23s reach Cup final

Celtic Academy and Hibernian U-23s both reached the Scottish League Division 1 Cup final, while Kelty Hearts and Spartans Development will face each other for the SWFL 2 Cup.

SWFL 1 NORTH

Inverness City went fourth with a 6-3 result against Deveronvale, Hannah Gordon and Katie Cleland with two each. Westdyke won for the second time with the only goal of the game at Stirling University DS. The latter visit Dundee United at Whitton Park on Thursday, 7.15pm kick off.

SWFL 1 SOUTH

Rangers DS went level on points with leaders Hibernian DS with the a 4-3 victory over Falkirk. Westerlands went up four places to third after beating Boroughmuir Thistle by the odd goal in five. Karen Baillies’ early strike was the difference between the sides in the first Renfrewshire derby of the season, Renfrew winning at basement side Morton.

DIVISIONAL CUP SEMI-FINALS

Celtic Academy and Hibernians U-23s will contest the SWFL 1 Cup final at Ainslie Park on 3rd May, after two very close semi-final ties. Celtic won by the only goal at Aberdeen U-23s scored just 5 minutes in by Megan Wands, while  Hibs needed penalties to get by Thistle Weir 4-3 following a 0-0 draw after extra-time.

Kelty Hearts came through 4-3 at Stonehaven after trailing 3-1 to reach the SWFL 2 Cup final. Spartans DS defeated hosts Dryburgh Athletic 3-0 to book their berth, Leah Boak, Katie Frew and Mischa Rennie the scorers.

SWFL 2

Montrose made it four wins in a row, the 2 North leaders 5-1 victors at Turriff United. Forfar Farmington DS’s 4-3 defeat of Moray moved them ahead of their visitors on goal-difference. Buchan Youth leapfrogged Buckie into fifth when beating them 2-1 away.

Ayr United replaced Kilmarnock U-23s in the 2 West top spot on goal-difference when hitting hosts Dumbarton United for six Erin Porter scoring twice. United Glasgow shared four goals with Kilwinning, Bishopston were 2-1 winners at Rutherglen and St Mirren sent Queen of the South to a sixth straight defeat with a 5-3 scoreline.

2 Central leaders Glasgow City DS have won their opening five games after netting nine goals against Cumbernauld Colts Yellows. Airdrie are second after scoring the only goal against Motherwell DS through Danielle O’Neill. Central Girls third having hit Broxburn Athletic 6-3. Glasgow Girls DS got a 4-1 result at Hamilton Academical U-23s and Murieston United ran out 6-1 winners at East Kilbride.

Hearts DS failed to take the chance to go top in 2 East, falling to a 4-1 home defeat against Dundee City, Amanda Primrose on target twice. The meeting of the two teams without a point brought ten goals and a 6-4 success for Jeanfield Swifts DS over Bonnyrigg Rose, with two goals for Abbie Ferguson. There’s one Tuesday’s evening fixture as Hutchison Vale DS host Edinburgh Caledonia at Gyle Park, 7pm ko.
