Swans Fly Out Of Bluebirds Reach
Swansea’s dramatic fightback at Cardiff City FC – coming from 3-1 down to win 4-3 – means the title is now out of the Bluebirds’ reach.
Shannon Evans put Cardiff ahead in the 6th minute and doubled her tally with a powerful low shot a quarter of an hour later.
Katy Hosford pulled a goal back not long before the break, only for the hosts to re-establish a two-goal cushion in the 57th minute.
Swansea stayed in the game with a Jodie Passmore flicked header soon after before the late drama ensued.
Hosford hit an impressive equaliser in the 88th minute and deep into added time, Katie Davies headed home the winner.
Archers Keep Eyes On Title Target
Cardiff Met did all they could to keep up the pressure on the Swans by beating basement side Briton Ferry 4-0.
Jassie Vasconcelos opened the scoring midway through the first half, with Chloe O’Connor tapping in the second 5 minutes short of the interval.
Winless Ferry kept the deficit to two goals until the last 11 minutes, when Lowri Savage struck, followed by a second for O’Connor at the end.
Abergavenny Strengthen Top Three Position
Abergavenny remain a point behind Met after a 2-0 defeat of Port Talbot.
Both goals came in the second half, with a two-goal lead gained in the 79th minute, with Lyndsey Davies and Lauren Boyd on the scoresheet.
North Wales Derby Drawn
The North Wales derby saw Rhyl rescue a point with a late leveller against Llandudno.
The visitors took a 21st-minute lead when Sofie Owen’s corner was bundled in by Rosie Hughes.
Amy Webster came off the bench with 3 minutes left and blasted home an injury-time equaliser from Sue Harrison’s pass.
February Awards

Meanwhile, the venues for two national finals have been announced.
The 2017 FAW Women’s Cup Final will take place at Penybont FC on Sunday 9th April, when Cardiff Met play Swansea City (kick off 2pm).
The FAW Girls’ U-16 Cup Final is Stebonheath Park, Llanelli on Sunday 2nd April, with Necastle Emlyn taking on Rhydyfelin, again with a 2pm start.
