Sunderland have signed Kosovo international striker Liz Ejupi from Barclays Women’s Championship rivals Durham.
The 28-year-old has also previously played at the same level for London City Lionesses, Aston Villa and Charlton Athletic.
Ejupi told safc.com: “I’m excited. I think there’s great coaches and a good team so I can’t wait to be a part of it.
“I can’t wait till I get into training, get to know the girls so I’m really excited.”
Head Coach Mel Reay said: “Liz is someone we’ve tracked and monitored for a while and we’re delighted to bring her in in this window which is a particularly hard window as well.
“We know she can add some great value to the squad. We’ve brought her in to score goals, it was a position that we wanted to enhance.
“We know where we fell short in the first half of the season so we’ve brought in a centre forward who can support the other players in the team.”
