#SSEWomensFACup : United win replayed Cambridge derby

Cambridge United defeated Cambridge City 2-0 in the SSE Women’s FA Cup 1st Round, the latter having won the original tie before it was ordered to be played again.

Eastern League Cambridge City had earlier beaten their more senior neighbours 2-1 but United complained about what they said was an undersized pitch and lodged a successful protest with the FA.

United were able to impose their seniority second time round at their Mildenhall Town FC home ground, as after the interval Amy Howlett broke the deadlock with a penalty and Millie Coupar settled the match with a solo effort.

The U’s now travel to Oxford United in the next round on 2nd December.
