Tottenham Hotspur Women will embark on their first-ever intercontinental tour when they play at The Women’s Cup in Louisville this August.
This second edition of the competition runs from 14 to 20 August, with AC Milan, OL Reign, Club América, Tokyo Verdy and hosts Racing Louisville the five other sides.
AC Milan play Tokyo Verdy, before Spurs face Mexico City-based side Club América in the second game of the opening day.
The winner of Spurs’ tie will meet OL Reign in the semi-finals on 17 August, while the victors of the first match go forward to take on the hosts. There will be a fifth place play-off the same day, before the final and third-place matches on 20 August.
Fabio Paratici, Spurs’ Managing Director of Football, told tottenhamhotspur.com: “Rehanne [Skinner] and the team are coming off the back of their best WSL campaign to date and are looking to build on this going into next season. The Women’s Cup will see us tested against top opposition from around the world, giving us ideal pre-season preparation while enabling our passionate fans in the United States to see our women’s first team in action for the first time.”
