Sponsors Spell Sweet Success For WBA Women

West Bromwich Albion FC Women and Girls’ Talent Club (RTC) welcome their first international sponsor, Maple Products from Quebec, as their official source of energy for the 2016/17 campaign.

West Bromwich Albion has seen recent success building awareness overseas, especially following the sale of the club, and the introduction of this sponsorship will heighten the brand’s awareness across North America and it’s great news for the team and for the women’s game that it can attract such big names.

As the official source of energy to WBA FC Women and Girls’ TC the deal will see the FA Women’s Northern Premier League champions and four RTC teams wear Maple Products from Quebec branded match day and training kits throughout the 2016/17 season.

Serge Beaulieu, President of the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers, commented on the deal: “Targeting sports consumers is the next stage of our campaign to educate the British audience on the benefits of pure Quebec maple products as a healthy sugar substitute.

“In Quebec maple is used by professional athletes of all disciplines before, during and after exercise because of its 100% natural production and abundance of antioxidants and minerals in comparison to processed sugars.

“Sponsoring the West Bromwich Albion FC women and girl’s TC teams will provide a brilliant opportunity to promote the message of maple in sport and we look forward to working with them to develop a brilliant sporting campaign.”

As part of the sponsorship Maple Products from Quebec, which represents the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers who look after the interests of over 7,300 maple businesses in Quebec, will also work with The Albion Foundation to educate the players, families and regional school children about the benefits of pure Quebec maple syrup as a healthy sugar substitute and how it can be incorporated into sport, fitness and every day cooking.

Rob Lake, director of The Albion Foundation and Chairman of WBA FC Women & Girls, also commented on the deal: “We are delighted to be working with such an internationally renowned organisation. As well as the investment enabling us to provide the very best for our players, we are excited to see how the maple syrup products can enhance our players preparation, health and fitness.”

Representatives from Maple Products from Quebec and WBA FC Women will take part in a half-time presentation at The Hawthorns on Saturday 15 October in the men’s fixture against Tottenham Hotspur FC to showcase the sponsorship and new kit to the 26,850-capacity crowd.
