Spain pipped Germany on penalties in the UEFA Women’s U-19 Championship Final following a goalless 120 minutes.
Played in pouring rain in front of over 3,000 at OH Leuven in Belgium, Lucia Corrales looked to settle it two minutes from the end of the 90 but her effort came back off the post.
When it eventually came to a shoot-out, Germany’s Vanessa Diehms was also thwarted by the woodwork but the final was ultimately decided when Pauline Deutsch pulled her spot-kick wide.
At 3-2 up, Spain kept the trophy for a second year.
