GROUP A: Netherlands 1-0 Norway, Slovakia 0-6 France
GROUP B: Austria 0-4 Spain, Switzerland 4-2 Germany
Substitute Camille Surdez scored twice as Switzerland qualified with a second Group B win while Germany bowed out. Stephanie Sanders’ early goal for the Germans was quickly cancelled out by Naomi Mégroz. Surdez scored twice in an eight-minute spell after the hour mark, with Laura Freigang finishing inbetween for Germany. Cinzia Zehnder later sealed the points in added time.
Andrea Sánchez buried a free-kick on 5 minutes to give Spain the lead over Austria and struck again just before the half hour. Lucía García further extended the lead with 21 minutes left and Aitana Bonmati added a late penalty.
The Netherlands are close to reaching the last four following a single-goal success over Norway, who are still in contention themselves in Group A. The winner arrived on 56 minutes, when Ashleigh Weerden’s long ball was parried by Ida Norstrøm but Sisca Folkertsmaturned in the loose ball.
Slovakia held France to a goalless first half but then Marie-Antoinette Katoto came off the bench to devastating effect, with a 19-minute hat-trick. She took only 4 minutes to opens scoring by heading in Delphine Cascarino’s cross. Perle Morroni then set up both
Clare Mateo and Katoto to score, before getting the fourth herself. Katoto made it 5-0 and Cascarino then curled home number six.
The final group games take place on Monday.
