Southampton won away to Sheffield United to jump up to third place in the Barclays Women’s Championship table.

Southampton went third with the only goal of the game at Bramall Lane. Ella Pusey rounded the Sheffield United keeper to give the Saints a ninth-minute advantage, which the Blades were unable to find a reply to.
Shania Hayles gave Bristol City a half-time lead over Crystal Palace, Emily Syme finding the bottom corner with first-time drive from the edge of the box two minutes after the restart. Abi Harrison quickly added a third with a header from Ffion Morgan’s cross, as City kept a three-point lead at the top.
Second-placed London City won away to Sunderland with a goal in either half. Amy Rodgers chipped the keeper from 25 yards, Sarah Ewens later heading home a Lucy Fitzgerald cross.
Lewes are one of five teams on seven points after defeating Charlton 2-1. Ellie Hack netted from a early corner by Nat Johnson, Kiera Skeels had the Addicks back on level terms but seven minutes into the second period Paula Howells fired the Rooks back in front.
Blackburn Rovers are one of the other sides on seven points after seeing off Coventry United. Saffron Jordan converted a fourth-minute penalty for Blackburn after Farah Crompton was brought down. Although Meesha Dudley-Jones soon levelled the scoring, Crompton scored either side of the break, before Anna Wilcox brought Coventry back into it at 3-2.
