Six More County League Titles Won

Here’s a round-up of the most recent County League champions whom we have not yet given a mention to:

Chester Le Street St Cuthbert’s Amazons made it 21 victories from their 24 games to become Durham League Development Division champions, after defeating second-place Darlington Spraire 1-0 in their final match of the season.

Frampton Rangers may have only won the Gloucestershire 2nd Division by goal-difference ahead of Chipping Sodbury Town but it was by the incredible margin of 50! Only conceding 5 times in their 14 fixtures. they finished with a 10-0 thrashing of Bradley Stoke.

A late header in the first half from Holly Fowell ensured Goldenhill Wanderers (pictured above) were crowned Staffordshire League winners, with a currently unbeaten record. Their 1-1 draw with Abbey Hutton took them out of the reach of their visitors.

Harlow Town secured the Essex Premier in fine style with a 10-0 home win over Runwell, making it 18 wins out of 18. Scoring 105 goals in the process, they have won the league title well ahead of Lawford without dropping a point, following in from last season’s promotion.

Basement side Combe scored first but Shannon Holloway equalised before the break for the unbeaten leaders. With time running out, Sarah Hopper hit the wiiner with a curler from the edge of the box, as Town made it impossible for second-placed Pen Mill to catch them.

Whyteleafe won the Surrey League in their penultimate game, a 4-1 win at Guildford Saints moving them out of the grasp of both Egham Town and Tooting & Mitcham. Katie Butts, Steph Mann, Jade Elston and Amanda Hollidge all on target.
