Despite a 6-0 win away to Scotland, England missed out on a UEFA Women’s Nations League semi-final spot which also meant no Team GB at the Paris Olympics.

The group leadership changed even in stoppage-time but two very late goals for the Dutch against Belgium proved decisive in their favour.

Alex Greenwood struck early on, Lauren James bagged a two-minute brace late in the first half and Beth Mead made it 4-0 in added time.

Fran Kirby got the Lionesses fifth soon after the restart but entering stoppage time the Netherlands had a 3-0 lead in their game.

Lucy Bronze then headed home to give England the advantage, only for the Dutch to find a fourth which saw them finish top of the table.
