Sion Swifts have made quite a coup with the double signing of Linfield captain Kirsty McGuiness and sister Caitlin ahead of the NIFL Women’s 2020 Premiership season.
Kirsty netted 27 league goals for the champions last term and Caitlin added 19 in her full debut season at this level.
Both are international players as well as having experience of the Champions League and the Swifts believe the signings give them a huge boost in this shortened 10-game season.
A Linfield Ladies statement said: Kirsty over many seasons and latterly Caitlin have been terrific servants of the club and are outstanding talents. Whilst disappointed to lose both players we thank them for their contributions and wish them well as they seek new challenges.’
Both players could make their debut on the opening day of the campaign as the Swifts travel to Derry City on 26 August.
