TNS took the lead through Sara Bengtsson in the first 15 minutes and were in control by half-time, with Charlotte Budd and Stacey Garnham both netting in a five-minute spell, the latter direct from a free-kick.
Kim Bebbington then made it 4-0 but the Shrews rallied as substitute Nicola Durnall scored before the hour mark.
Caitlyn Smith then buried a 25-yard free-kick for Shrewsbury’s second goal in the last couple of minutes.
