Sheffield United Women have signed promising young midfielder Olivia Page from Eastern Suburbs AFC in New Zealand.
The 18-year-old played a key role in helping Eastern Suburbs win the league title for the first time last season and she played all New Zealand’s group games at the Under 17 World Cup in India last year.
Speaking about her first move abroad, Page said: “I’m stoked. I’ve been really enjoying pre-season, the team has been really good in helping me settle in and yeah I’m really enjoying it.
“I’ve been in New Zealand my whole life. I’ve got family in England and I just wanted to take my career to the next step. United is a really great football team, the growth they’re having is amazing and they play a style I really like.”
Head coach Jonathan Morgan is also excited at the promising talent Page offers his squad: “Olivia came onto our radar last season. She’s a young player who has played for the New Zealand youth teams and she’s showed a lot of maturity already here.
“We’re excited to see how she develops. She’s tall, powerful and has a good engine on her and we’re looking forward to seeing how she takes to the English game.”
