She Kicks Back – Chelsea Law (Team Solent)

With the new season imminent, it’s time for some new ambitions for the Team Solent captain, having ticked all hers off last term.

1. Name: Chelsea Law

2. Age (D.O.B):  22.  27.12.1991

3. Team: Team Solent Ladies

4. Position (and have you always played there)? Centre Back, i joined university as a centre mid but the competition for that position was so strong that i slotted in nicely at the back, and have stayed there ever since!

5. Team Supporter/Fave player? Chelsea (Didier Drogba)

6. Occupation/or what you are studying? Student studying Sports Coaching and Development

7. Are there other footballers in your family? My whole family play, or used to, apart from my poor mum!

8. Favourite game you have played in (and why)? BUCS Southern Division Cup final. We were up against UWE, who were a league above and had a few high level and international players in their squad, so to beat them was amazing for us.

9. Your best attribute as a player? I think i am very good at organising and communicating on the pitch, but when i get the ball i like to keep it simple and play the simple pass every time, but can also put in s good tackle!

10. What are your ambitions in football? I achieved them all this year, I captained an amazing team to success, i am more than happy with that 🙂

11. Who has been the biggest influence in or on your footballing career? I always used to like John Terry on the pitch, but off the pitch my dad was the most influential, he was my manager for 5 years, and my taxi for the other 10!

12. What is the best thing about playing for your team? The girls make me laugh every single day! they make every game and training session enjoyable!

13. If you got to design your team’s kit, what would it look like? Ha, i have never thought about that, I like white kits so you can get them really muddy! But if it had to be different I’d give every player a different colour just to make life difficult!

14. Do you listen to music to get you motivated, or while you train – if so, what tracks? We listen to music before most matches, we have a right range of music, we like upbeat songs but also some classic love songs!

15. Who, that plays for your team, should we know more about and why? Super Susie Werner, our German! She was definitely worth a watch and had a crazy score record! But all the girls are talented and unique, you can learn something from each one of them!
