She Kicks Back: Amy Brindle (Bolton Wanderers Res)

Originally just went between the posts to help her team out in the goalkeeping spot but has now got a scholarship offer in the US.

1. Name: Amy Brindle

2. Age (DOB): 18, 10/11/1996

3. Team: Bolton Wanderers Reserves

4. Position (and have you always played there)? Goalkeeper. I haven’t always played there, I used to play in midfield and when I was13 I went in goal to help my team out and ever since I have played there.

5. Team Supporter / Fave player? The team i support is Bolton Wanderers. My favourite player that I liked ever since I supported Bolton is Kevin Davies and my favourite current player is Zach Clough.

6. Occupation / or what are you studying? I currently have a part-time job as a waitress at a restaurant, I am hopefully then going to America to play football as i have been offered a scholarship for August 2016.

7. Are there other footballers in your family? My twin sister used to play football up until she was around 15. We used to play together for Bromley Cross Stars but I’m the only one who has carried on playing for a long period of time.

8. Favourite game played in by you (and why)? My favourite game i have played was at the Macron Stadium in a friendly. As I have always supported Bolton, it was a great to get to play there.

9. Your best attribute as a player? I think my best attribute as a player is shot-stopping, as I am confident in this aspect of my game.

10. What are your ambitions in football? My ambitions in football are to reach the highest level possible for myself but also just to enjoy playing. I want to develop my skills on the pitch and become more confident and a better player.

11. Who has been the biggest influence in your footballing career? Karen Bardsley, as I think she is a great goalkeeper for England and when I watch her, I can get tips from her. Also my Dad has been a great influence, as he as always supported me, come and watched me play and he even was the assistant manager of my first team. He always pushed me to do well and practice so I get better.

12. What is the best thing about playing for your team? All the girls are really nice and they always support each other and encourage each other. Also, the training is the best I’ve ever had as it is very different from the other clubs i played for, as it’s a higher level.

13. If you got to design your team’s kit, what would it look like? I would be purple and black as they’re my favourite colours and I think they would look nice together. I also would have a colour like last season’s Bolton kit as i thought that looked good.

14. Do you listen to music to get you motivated, or while you train – if so, what tracks? I sometimes listen to music to get motivated, nothing specific. just the charts music.

15. Who, that plays for your team, should we know more about and why? Saffron Newhouse of the 1st team, as she is a great player, she’s only 19, she’s quick and can run for a long time. She plays on the wing or upfront – a great team player. She always encourages other players, she can pass, shoot and always gets back to help the defence out.
