Shannon Albuery has rejoined FAWNL side Portsmouth on loan from Yeovil Town of the FAWSL.

Pompey say that the forward left them in September on a permanent deal but endured a frustrating spell due to a lack of game time and an injury setback.

Now she links back up with Pompey, where she spent the entire 2017/18 season, in search of more playing time.

On Albuery’s return, Blues boss Jay Sadler told portsmouthfc.co.uk: “It’s a bittersweet feeling. From a development point of view, following her progression to the highest level was a proud moment.

“Unfortunately, for whatever reason, it hasn’t worked as she would have liked, so I’m obviously gutted for her because of that.”

Albuery made a fine start to 2018/19 for Pompey – netting three times in four games – most notably scoring a ‘rabona’ finish against C&K Basildon, whom Portsmouth host this Sunday at the PMC Stadium.
