Glossop Take Title With Late Leveller

A late leveller by Glossop North End was enough to secure the Derbyshire League title, after a 2-2 tie at second-placed Mackworth St Francis saw them finish top on goal-difference.

Nat Bamford gave Glossop the lead before the home side turned the game and the league table in their favour, only for Becca Austin to get the decisive second for North End.

Cup Consolation For Stockton

Durham champions Boldon CA Villa lost out to runners-up Stockton West End in the League Cup Final, defeated 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Royal Flush For Huckin 

Royal Wootton Bassett (pictured top) were 4-3 winners over Almondsbury UWE in the Gloucestershire League Gordon Perrett Memorial Cup Final. Hayley Huckin hit a hat-trick for Bassett and although Almondsbury pulled it back from 3-1 down to 3-3 with a very late equaliser, there was no comeback from Huckin’s fourth goal.

Thrapston and Welland Win Northants Finals

The Northants League Cup Final brought together the leading two teams in the table and as in their season opener, unbeaten Thrapston went away narrow winners, this time with a late goal.

Rothwell Town are below Welland Valley in the league but thrashed them 8-0 in their meeting last November. However, Town were unable to find the net in the Northants League Plate Final until the shoot-out, which Welland edged 5-4.

Ferry Lift West Wales Cup

Briton Ferry Llansawel Reserves won the West Wales League Cup Final on Saturday evening, They defeated Dafen Welfare 4-0, with Nadean Mahoney, Carys Price, Cerys Penk and Grace Daniels their scorers.

Aber Uni Ceredigion Champions

Aberystywth University drew 4-4 with second-placed Penrhyncoch in the Ceredigion League top of the table clash last midweek and went onto take the title with a 2-0 victory over Lampeter on Sunday. They go for the double this thursday, when meeting the runners-up in the League Cup final.
