Searson Scores with Record-Breaking Strike

University of Mary senior Megan Searson, where she is studying and playing on a scholarship, scored in an NCAA-record time of just three seconds into the Marauders 2-0 win over Minnesota Crookston on 25th September. Searson’s blast, just a few touched on from the kick off, sailed (with the help of very strong winds to her back) just under the crossbar from 54 yards out. It’s a pretty sensational strike, whether it was breezy or not!

The previous NCAA Division II record for fastest goal was seven seconds by Jennifer Prior of Saginaw Valley, scored against Rochester College on 24th Sept, 2003.
