#ScottishWCup: Partick Thistle progress on penalties after late leveller

Partick Thistle made it through to the last sixteen of the Scottish Women’s Cup after edging Motherwell in a penalty shoot-out.

Partick were trailing Motherwell going into the final minute of normal time but the visitors then had a player sent off and Cheryl McCulloch headed home from the resulting free kick.

Both Hamilton Academical and Rangers scored 14 times against lesser league opponents, Tara McGonigle getting five for the Accies and Jane Ross four for the Gers.

Hearts hit 13 at Gleniffer Thistle with five for Amelia Birse, Spartans also got double-figures against Morton as Louise Mason chalked up her 200th appearance for the club, while Glasgow City netted nine at home to Queen’s Park with seven different scorers.

Boroughmuir Thistle beat Renfrew 6-2 aided by a Samantha Duncan double, Gartcairn won 5-2 over East Fife with Megan Wands contributing two goals.

Dryburgh Athletic next face Kilmarnock after their 7-0 result at Harmony Row, while Westdyke host Dundee United next Sunday in another third round tie.
