Scotland U-19s Make Winning Start

Scotland kicked off their UEFA U-19 Championship qualifying round with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Armenia, while group hosts Hungary beat Turkey.

Although the Armenians failed to hit the target throughout the match and in fact only managed one effort at goal, it was after the hour mark when Lauren Davidson made the breakthrough

The points were made safe 7 minutes from time, keeper Lena Andriasyan conceding an own-goal after Shannon McGregor had hit the post.

Hungary see red but hit five

Group 10 hosts Hungary beat Turkey 5-2, despite having a player sent off.

Brigitta Pulins, Anna Csiki and Katalin Tolnai all scored in the first half-hour, before Csiki received a second caution on 61 minutes.

Shortly after the dimissal, Esra Manya’s goal gave Armenia hope of a fightback but Adrienn Oláh then netted the fourth goal for the Hungarians.

Tolnai got her second late on and Irem Eren got one back for Turkey in added time.

Scotland next play at noon on Saturday against Hungary in Buk.
