#SBSSWPL: Week Two Preview

Photo: SWPL

The Scottish Building Society SWPL action continues this Sunday after the opening games of the season last weekend.

A number of interesting SWPL ties includes Hibernian versus Celtic. Hibs, runners-up to Glasgow City last season, couldn’t break the deadlock against Spartans last Sunday – the first time they’ve failed to score in an SWPL match since 2017 – while Celtic were convincing 4-0 winners at home to Forfar Farmington.

Glasgow City play their first match of the 2019 season against Spartans. The club will pay tribute to former player, Kat Lindner, who sadly passed away last week and all senior SWF matches will hold a minute silence before kick-off. City will face a tough match against Spartans who will be elated by their result against Hibs.

In the other Scottish Building Society SWPL 1 matches, Forfar host newly promoted Motherwell after contrasting opening fixtures and Stirling University host Rangers. Amy McDonald’s side will be hoping to start their new campaign with a win at Ochilview and send Stirling University to back-to-back defeats.
