Chelsea Women’s forward Sam Kerr has signed a six-book deal with publisher Simon & Schuster Australia.

In a statement, Kerr said: “Nothing makes me happier than to be recognised as a role model to a younger generation of Aussie kids.

“Through these books, I hope to share some of my personal stories of growing up, of pushing boundaries and chasing my dreams. I can’t wait to bring the readers on this journey with me.”

The first books of the children’s series will be published next year, while Kerr will also be writing a FIFA Women’s World Cup diary, as Australia and New Zealand host the 2023 tournament.
